Teamwork = Enhanced Brand Protection
Popular consumer brands are in demand world-wide. Many consumers will chase low-cost counterfeit goods rather than acquire authentic branded products for a variety of reasons. These consumers generally perceive the purchase as one that causes no-harm/no-fault. We recognize that counterfeits will infiltrate brand programs and grow at an exponential rate! How does a brand be proactive in this milieu?
A good defense starts with a strong offence! The implementation of a progressive and structured approach with key partnerships offers brand owners with a results-orientated strategy. Many of these partnerships come into existence by the mere business association with the brand as licensees and retailers. By engaging internal assets and external partnerships, brand owners can develop a significant network of vested business partners to identify and activate steps to inform, prevent, interrupt and combat counterfeit goods. Additionally, these partners can aid in the education of vested stakeholders to further enhance the roster of team-mates in combating counterfeit goods.
By using a sports team analogy – where each member has a specific role to play – the brand owner can engage their team to rally together and work collectively to meet the challenge before them.
